What is College Chaplaincy about?
The Emmanuel Methodist College Chaplaincy team are available to:
Listen, we aim to listen and hear.Conversation with a College Chaplain is confidential unless you are telling us something that is highly illegal and may harm others or yourself.
All the team are familiar with most life situations such as : nerves, bereavement, sickness, substance misuse, families and their "ups and downs", fear and loneliness.
College Chaplains are not just for students but the whole college community.
College Chaplains do not work for the college but with the college as a partnership.
Meet the chaplins!
Rev Jon Bellfield -
Hi I’m Jon, those who know me sometimes call me JonnyB, married to Jackie and have four children who range from 7-28. I have lived all over, and had a variety of different jobs, before I became a minister.
I haven’t always been a Christian, I only really became a Christian in my late 20’s.
My last jobs used to be working in a drug rehab, and then managing housing. While training I worked as a prison chaplain in Doncaster. I have been a minister in Barnsley for two years coming from Rotherham Circuit.
For fun I embarrass myself playing footy & playing on the PC. I drink coffee and eat donuts.
Kirstie Hall -
My name is Kirstie and I am the new Youth and Community worker at Emmanuel Methodist Church, Barnsley. Although I am new to Barnsley I have been a children’s and young people’s worker since I was 18, a part time job which I did alongside my A levels and my History degree. Loads of interesting stories to tell and time to listen so, feel free to chat.
