Find us by car

These instructions will help you find your way directly to Emmanuel Church.    Be aware that there are several mobile and fixed speed cameras operating on the roads approaching Emmanuel.      If there was a bible verse giving the message about driving carefully we'd say it now.    There isn't so DRIVE CAREFULLY.

BY CAR

From the North M1

Leave the M1 Motorway at Junction 38 and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto the A637 towards Barnsley.

Follow this same road for a couple of miles through the village of Darton.

Bear left at the first mini roundabout still following the A637 towards Barnsley.

At the roundabout next to the Toyota garage, go straight ahead following the A635 towards Barnsley.

After the next set of traffic lights, Emmanuel Church is about 500 yards on the right.

From the South M1

Leave the M1 Motorway at Junction 37 and take the 3rd exit off the roundabout onto Dodworth Road = the A628 towards Barnsley (NOT towards Manchester)

At the first major set of traffic lights turn left onto Pogmoor Road towards Barnsley Hospital.

At the traffic lights with Barnsley Hospital on your left go straight ahead onto Greenfoot Lane.

At the bottom of Greenfoot Lane, turn right onto Huddersfield Road and Emmanuel Church is about 200 yards on the right. 

From Manchester A628 Woodhead Pass Road.

Follow the A628 towards Barnsley

The A628 crosses the M1 Motorway at Junction 37.     Head straight across the roundabout at Junction 37 onto  Dodworth Road

At the first major set of traffic lights turn left onto Pogmoor Road towards Barnsley Hospital.

At the traffic lights with Barnsley Hospital on your left go straight ahead onto Greenfoot Lane.

At the bottom of Greenfoot Lane, turn right onto Huddersfield Road and Emmanuel Church is about 200 yards on the right. 

From Doncaster

The road from Doncaster to Barnsley is the A635.    Emmanuel Church is on the A635 but at the other side of Barnsley.

As you approach Barnsley you travel down hill on a long dual carriageway with a speed camera (40mph max)

You arrive at a huge roundabout with traffic lights - dubbed by the media as one of the worst and most confusing road junctions in the country.    Take the 3rd exit off the roundabout towards Barnsley.    You should pass Aldi supermarket high on your left.

Continue towards Barnsley bearing right at the traffic lights junction of Cemetery Road and Doncaster Road (the road you are on).    Go round a 90 degree left turn on the same road to the junction.

At the traffic lights with the Baptist Church ahead turn right onto the dual carriageway.

At the next roundabout take the first exit,  past Morrisons Supermarket.

At the next Roundabout take the 4th exit onto Shambles Street (up the hill).

At the next junction the one way system forces you to turn left.   You then have the back of Barnsley Town Hall on your right.  

Head straight on out of the town centre on Huddersfield Road.

Emmanuel Church is just over half a mile on your left.
