Service Projects

Emmanuel people raise money to build homes for people in the poorest parts of the world.  Having raised the money, we organise a 2 week trip for a team from Emmanuel to put our hands where our money is and actually help in the building projects.

Christian Aid

Question: What can be better than receiving a Christmas card?    

Answer: NOT receiving one! . . . . . . . . . . but knowing that the money saved by not buying a card has been given to a worthy cause.    

Many Emmanuel people choose this route, giving their Christmas card money to Christian Aid instead.  This is just one of the many ways that added up to a donation from Emmanuel people to Christian Aid of £2176.57 in the 2007 campaign.

Action for Children 

Emmanuel supports AfC by giving Christmas presents and Easter Eggs as well as raising money through a collecting box scheme and a Coffee morning. £1240 was donated in 2007.

Missionaries

Donations of £118.28 were given by Emmanuel people for the work of overseas Christian Missions.

Other Service Work

During the year Emmanuel people raise money for other worthy causes.  The Tuesday Coffee Morning people raised a further £3250 for various local projects this last year.

Projects included: Church funds, The Samaritans, Barnsley Abuse and Rape Crisis Helpline, Riding for the Disabled, Barnsley Beacons, Barnsley Churches Drugs Project, Exodus Youth Project.

The Tuesday Coffee Morning has is own area of this website; they do much more than raise funds.  It's great friendship.
