Marmen Quartet

The Marmen Quartet make a welcome return to Barnsley. Since last performing here they have gone on to win major String Quartet competitions in France and Canada, becoming known as one of the world’s leading young string quartets. In this concert, you’ll journey from Haydn’s humour and wit, through a series of short, contrasting variations as Ligeti plays with sound, through to Mendelssohn’s beautiful and poetic melancholy.
