By car

We’re easy to find on Huddersfield road – across from Wilthorpe park. Heading out of town, we’re on the left – and you’ll be able to see our nice big sign. But just in case, our postcode is S75 1DT for sat navs and you can get detailed directions from the map.

 

Parking 

We’re an unusual Church as we have a car park! Just follow the signs at the Church entrance.  At busy times alternative free on street parking is available right outside – you shouldn’t have a problem finding somewhere. The best places are on Huddersfield Road, the top of Hall Balk Lane, the bottom of Salisbury Street or Greenfoot Lane (either the right side off Huddersfield Lane or the bottom of the left side).  These are all residential streets, so please be respectful of driveways and our neighbours – please do not block entrances to our neighbour’s properties. As you arrive at Emmanuel the main entrance to the Church is up the stairs or ramp - this takes you to the main foyer and into the sanctuary (the main church room).

By public transport

We’re within a mile of the central Bus and Train Interchange in Barnsley. Use travel south yorkshire’s website to plan your journey.

 

Emmanuel is 3/4 of a mile as the crow flies or just under a mile as the duck waddles from Barnsley Bus and Train interchange.  There's a bit of an uphill on the first part of this walk, but it's fairly level from then.

 

By foot (from the Bus and Train Interchange)

 

Come out of the bus interchange at the Eldon Street entrance and head up the hill on Regent Street towards Barnsley Town Hall.

At the Town Hall turn right onto Church Street. 

 

Go past the Barnsley Building Society then Barnsley Chronicle and Barnsley College.

Cross over the road heading straight ahead onto Huddersfield Road and Emmanuel Church is half a mile on the left.
