Helen, one of the Emmanuel family reflects at the end of Christian Aid week, and why we believe their work is so important:
As we reach the end of virtual Christian Aid Week, the UK is also reaching the end of its eighth week living with the Covid-19 restrictions on our lives. Despite that, we have been able to share and celebrate the work of Christian Aid, fundraising for them in a different way.
Perhaps now more than ever, we recognise the feelings of vulnerability and loss of control over our lives, but yet together we are stronger and united by a love that never fails. Whilst the world continues to fight coronavirus, the tireless work of Christian Aid carries on, working in partnership locally and globally to achieve their vision of ending poverty. That’s why, each year as a church family at Emmanuel, we give generously to support their work.
Thank you for your part in this; for being builders of God’s kingdom, for standing with our brothers and sisters across the world, and for your spirit of generosity in these unprecedented times.
