We're taking a new approach to mental health issues

‘Honesty Over Silence – The Tour’

We're taking a new approach to tackling mental health issues.

An evening of live music and inspirational speaking is the order of the day for Emmanuel Methodist Church as the Honesty over Silence tour hits the town.

Patrick Regan OBE and Joanne Hogg star as they seek to open up the conversation about mental health and faith on Sunday 15 March.

Regan, who regularly appears on TV and radio discussing the issues of poverty and justice, has written about his struggles with mental health and is now sharing his story around the country.

Tackling topics such as dealing with anxiety and depression, the event’s aim is to spread the word that it’s ok to not be ok and there can be light at the end of the tunnel.

Singer-songwriter Hogg, known for her work with Europe’s best-selling Celtic Christian rock band Iona, will also be performing at the event.

Ian Wragg, one of the event’s organisers, said: “We have been very blessed in getting the Honesty Over Silence tour to Barnsley.

“I heard Patrick speak at an event I attended last year and was inspired to try to get him to Barnsley.

“Patrick is so good at opening up conversations around topics that many find difficult such as trusting in God when life is painful, dealing with anxiety and depression, learning to look after ourselves.

“We are going to be in for a great night of inspirational speaking and some of the best current Christian music. I hope everyone in the area will support us at what promises to be an inspirational event.”
