Keeping you safe at this time

In light of the ongoing Covid-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, we just want to reassure everyone that we are following Government and Methodist Church directives. We will stay open, unless we are told we must close – but we want to encourage people to keep safe and to care for each other. We will keep you updated on here should anything change.

If you are feeling ill (with a persistent cough and high temperature) please remain at home and self-isolate.

Whilst the Methodist Church suggests that elderly and vulnerable people should stay away from church we recognise that this is a personal decision and we don’t want people to feel isolated. Remember you can only catch it if you have been close to a person who has the virus and the chance of this is still low in the UK at the moment.

We are adopting all precautions we can in order for us to look after each other well. Please maintain high standards of hygiene by washing your hands regularly, using a tissue and then binning the tissue. There is soap in the church toilets, please make sure you use it.

The Methodist Church advises no hand contact between church attenders. Communion will still be administered, but communion stewards will wash hands with hand gel before distribution and we suggest individuals pick up and return their own communion glasses as they receive the wine.

We will try to keep use of hymn/liturgy books to a minimum. It is recommended that you try to distance yourself slightly from the person next to you.
