30 minute set up before service / 30 minute serving straight after the service / 30 minutes washing up and tidy up after refreshments finished


Commitment | 25 volunteers to volunteer around 6 times a year


The team: Refreshments Team


At Emmanuel we believe in offering our refreshments service to ad-hoc events that use our Church as part of our ongoing mission. It's a time for us to be inclusive, to live out our faith, and to share God's love in service. To do this we need committed volunteers to serve refreshments, create an inclusive environment, and serve the Emmanuel Family in this way.


They are a committed team - who work together and ensure we serve refreshments each Sunday, keep in line with hygiene standards, and generally keep the upkeep of the kitchen to the standard we would expect.


Is this team for you?

You’d be perfect for this team if you have a passion for customer service, serving in a practical way, or generally like being around people. You’ll be good at delivering tasks, chatting to those who come for a cuppa, washing up, and that all important task of making a brew. This is essential. But of course, full training is given if needed too!

Each time is busy, serving up to 100 people in a queue - so you need to be quick thinking, efficient and fast at serving, collecting and getting the job done.


Responsibilities

  • Providing refreshments after an event - which could be any day during the week.

  • Set up before, and clear up afterwards.

  • Follow directions regarding the use of the dishwasher, food hygiene,

  • Serve tea, coffee or juice to all who wish to stay after the service

  • Collect finished cups from tables, generally chatting to all who stay

  • Wipe tables when finished

  • Wash, dry and put away pots

  • Generally tidy away once finished, including tables and chairs

You will be required to hold a relevant level food hygiene certificate and DBS for these roles, and attend annual safeguarding training. Sign up now.
